2. How your mindset can increase your bankroll

The mindset of sports bettors who win

If you want to win in sports betting, more than anything else there are two things that you need. Although hard to maintain, if you work at it, it will is the key difference between someone that is able to keep winning, and someone that isn’t.

Sports bettors who are able to keep winning use two skills more than any other, they are Patience and Discipline.

3 ways to develop patience and discipline when betting on sports

1.  Find a real edge

Stop yourself from betting until you find a real edge that will give you long term success. Statistics, weather and past trends are not unique enough to secure long term success. Wait until you have something that comes from situational handicapping and is unique in perspective, even if you have to wait for some time.

2. Keep things balanced

Although outcomes may change, you have to remain balanced in your response. Therefore, if you are making a loss, don’t respond by placing a larger bet, likewise, if you make a win, don’t respond by placing a larger bet. Remain consistent, whatever the outcome.

3. Keep emotions in check

Keep things in perspective. Once you have placed a bet, keep yourself busy with family, friends and other things. Research has shown that constantly checking the progress of bets throughout the day, will cause you to feel stressed and make disastrous decisions. Keep your personal life and your betting life separate.

Thus, by mastering self discipline and patience, you can increase your bankroll, save time, keep things in perspective and have more time for family and friends.
